MEET THE ATTORNEYS
Scott A. Brown, Esq.
Mr. Brown is a managing partner and a founding shareholder of Brown | Poore LLP, founded in Emeryville, California in 2003. He holds a J.D. from San Francisco Law School, cum laude, and a B.S. from Santa Clara University. He is a member of the bar of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Northern U.S. District of California, and has served as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau since 2001.
Before earning his law degree, Mr. Brown interned for T. Boone Pickens' lobbyist firm, United Shareholders, in Washington D.C. He also worked as a trading clerk on the fast paced options floor of the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange. During law school, Mr. Brown clerked for Bank of America's General Counsel. He also served as a judicial extern for Honorable Alfred G. Chiantelli of the San Francisco Superior Court.
Mr. Brown began his legal career as a litigation attorney for a Bay Area defense firm, before shifting the focus of his practice to plaintiffs and starting the law firm of Brown | Poore LLP in Emeryville. There, he continues to litigate, arbitrate, and try bad faith insurance, construction defect, class action and employment cases on behalf of consumers and homeowners.
Mr. Brown played eight years with the Old Blues Rugby Football Club of Berkeley, including their last U.S. National Championship team and abroad.
Mr. Brown resides in the East Bay with his wife and two children. He enjoys fishing, skiing, and coaching baseball and basketball.

Mr. Poore is a managing partner and a founding shareholder of Brown | Poore LLP, founded in Emeryville, California in 2003. Mr. Poore holds a J.D. from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with Great Distinction, Order of the Coif, and the Traynor Society. During law school, he clerked for the United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of California (Civil Division); the Honorable Christopher Klein, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California; and the California Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA).
Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a United States Naval Officer with the Judge Advocates General Corps, and served in the capacity of Trial Counsel. He then accepted an assignment as a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the Western District of Washington prosecuting criminal cases on federal lands. After the assignment with the U.S. Attorney's Office, he accepted an associate position with Sedgwick Detert Moran & Arnold LLP in their employment section. He then accepted a senior associate position at Bjork Lawrence litigating complex employment and insurance cases. Mr. Poore has conducted over 50 jury and court trials, and over 100 administrative hearings.
